B&B BlogB&B Blog

If you want more guests you need to write a B&B blog and post articles regularly, enabling new content to appear on your website which can then be used to your best advantage.

But what’s the secret to getting people to actually getting people to read your B&B blog?

I thought I’d share my top 5 tips to writing effective B&B blogs:

Tip #1: Punchy, exciting titles make for good reading

Like in all pieces of marketing, the Headline on your B&B blog is what counts most. Grab the reader’s attention by conveying the most important information from your blog. Or why not create even more intrigue by turning the title into a question.

Tip #2: Cut the waffle and get to the point

You have just 6 seconds to capture a reader’s attention before they move on.  So it’s important you make sure they don’t have to read through flannel to find real content!

Tip #3: Keep sentences short

Reading a whole page of writing is pretty daunting, so split text up into short sentences and paragraphs to make the content easier to digest. We all have ‘selective’ reading habits so break down the content into smaller chunks using bullet points and sub-paragraphs and then it is more likely to be read.

Tip #4: Use videos and images

If you want to stand out from the crowd and get people to read your B&B blog, then why not include an image or short video clip? This is one of the most simple, yet powerful and creative ways to make them interesting. Include a clip from within your B&B, ask a guest to give a testimonial or get out in the fresh air and capture some great footage of the local area to entice the reader to want to visit.

Tip #5: Create links in your blog to other blogs on your site

Internal links connect your content and give Google an idea of the structure of your website.  Using the right internal linking strategy can seriously boost your SEO! Evaluate and improve your internal linking strategy on a regular basis.  By adding the right internal links you make sure Google understands the relevance of pages, the relationship between pages and the value of pages.
